We're always working on finding new birding opportunities, often with a touch of adventure. Zugunruhe Birding Tours is the first company in over 10 years to offer tours to Attu for spring migration and the first to offer a tour to see the spectacular migration of Ross's Gulls at Barrow, Alaska. We also literally wrote the book (OK, just a chapter!) about birding Adak in the central Aleutians.
While many tours target exotic species and locations, we also go to places that aren't quite that far off the beaten path: Washington state, New Mexico, plus we can do custom tours to many of North America's birding hotspots, such as Florida, Texas, Arizona, and southern California. Attu
May 10-24 & May 24-June 7, 2012 We are the first -- and still the only -- company since 2000 to offer a spring tour to Attu, the westernmost Aleutian island and the best place to see Asian vagrants in North America. Adak various spring & fall dates In the central Aleutian island, Adak is another great place to see Asian vagrants plus Whiskered Auklet, a seabird that's difficult to see due to its restricted range. St. John's, Newfoundland Jan 17-22, 2012 (new dates) A gull bonanza with Iceland, Glaucous, Black-headed and an excellent shot at Yellow-legged and more. Also European ducks (Tufted, European Wigeon, and "Common" Teal) and a chance of a vagrant from Europe as well.
Seabird Fest
Sep 23-26, 2012 Pelagic birding aboard a cruise ship with some of the country's top seabirding expert during the day, social gatherings and informative talks in the evening.
